Y2 Assembly

For the Year 2 assembly, class 2B delved into the “lights and shadows” inquiry unit with a scientific focus. They not only learned and revisited the scientific method but also applied it to explore the nuances of the unit’s theme. The highlight of their presentation was a captivating role play illustrating a day in the laboratory, where they shared their discoveries from the unit.

Year 2A students approached the unit from a literacy angle. They immersed themselves in two books related to lights and shadows, gaining valuable insights into the subject matter. Following this, the students engaged in thoughtful discussions about their existing knowledge and what they were eager to learn. Utilizing tools like Kahoot, multiple-choice activities, and creating questions, they actively participated in activities aimed at reinforcing their understanding.

Towards the conclusion, both classes explored cross-cutting themes tied to Personal and Social Education (P.S.E). They sang  Katy Perry’s song “Fireworks” to convey the powerful message that each individual is unique and special. Our children  enjoyed the unit thoroughly and also demonstrated a commendable ability to apply and transfer their newfound knowledge to real-life situations.

Para el Assembly de Año 2, la clase de Y2B se adentró en los contenidos de la unidad de indagación “luces y sombras” con un enfoque científico. No solo aprendieron el método científico, sino que también lo aplicaron para explorar los matices del tema de la unidad. Los alumnos llevaron a cabo una presentación en la que nos deleitaron con una dramatización que ilustraba un día en el laboratorio, donde compartieron sus descubrimientos y nuevos aprendizajes.

Los alumnos de Y2A abordaron la unidad desde un enfoque literario. Leyeron dos libros relacionados con luces y sombras, obteniendo valiosas perspectivas sobre el tema. Luego, los estudiantes discutieron y reflexionaron sobre sus conocimientos previos y compartieron sus preguntas. Utilizando herramientas como Kahoot, actividades de opciones múltiples y la elaboración de preguntas, participaron activamente en la construcción de actividades destinadas a reforzar su comprensión.

Ambas clases exploraron temas transversales vinculados a PSE  y cantaron la canción “Fireworks” de Katy Perry para transmitir el poderoso mensaje de que cada persona es única y especial. Nuestros alumnos disfrutaron muchísimo de la unidad y también demostraron una capacidad para aplicar y transferir sus nuevos conocimientos a situaciones de la vida real.
