The kindergarten students embarked on various investigations and activities as part of the celebration of Tree Week.
As part of this enriching experience, K5 students visited our Primary school. Accompanied by Heads, Miss Vero and Miss Naty, they carried out the planting of pecan walnut trees.
It’s important to highlight that these newly planted trees will receive constant care from our students, who have enthusiastically taken on the commitment to be environmentally responsible. Furthermore, this activity is part of our articulation project towards the first grade, which aims to foster ecological awareness from an early age.
Furthermore, the growth of these trees that will accompany our students throughout their schooling symbolises the transition from one level to another.
Los alumnos de jardín se embarcaron en diversas investigaciones y actividades en el marco de la celebración de la Semana del Árbol.
Como parte de esta enriquecedora experiencia, los estudiantes de K5 tuvieron la oportunidad de visitar la Primaria. Acompañados por las directoras, Miss Vero y Miss Naty, llevaron a cabo la plantación de nogales pecán.
Es importante destacar que estos árboles recién plantados recibirán el cuidado constante de nuestros chicos, quienes han asumido con entusiasmo el compromiso de ser responsables con el medio ambiente. Además, esta actividad se inscribe dentro de nuestro proyecto de articulación hacia primer grado, que busca fomentar la conciencia ecológica desde edades tempranas.
Por otro lado, el crecimiento de estos árboles que acompañarán a nuestros alumnos a lo largo de su escolaridad, simbolizan el pasaje de un nivel a otro.
OLIVOS PRIMARY & SECONDARY
As part of Tree Day, Y2 students had a talk with a representative from GERMINAR, a nonprofit organisation with the primary goal of raising awareness about the importance of environmental conservation and biodiversity preservation. During the talk, students were able to share their own experiences, ask questions, and reflect on the importance of our environment. To conclude this celebration, Y2 students, along with the Evergreen’s group from Y10 in secondary, and the GERMINAR NGO, germinated seeds of native trees that will be used in various reforestation projects.
En el marco del Día del Árbol, los alumnos de Y2 tuvieron una charla con una representante de GERMINAR, una organización sin fines de lucro con el principal objetivo de concientizar sobre la importancia del cuidado ambiental y preservación de la biodiversidad. Durante la charla, los alumnos pudieron contar sus propias experiencias, realizar preguntas y reflexionar sobre la importancia de nuestro medio ambiente. Para cerrar esta celebración, los alumnos de Y2, el grupo Evergreen´s de secundaria olivos de Y10, la ONG Germinar, germinaron semillas de árboles nativos que serán destinados a diversos proyectos de reforestación.
Every August 29th, we celebrate Tree Day. This day invites all of us to reflect on the importance of trees for us and our planet. During a midday assembly, the Green Patrol reminded us of the importance of reducing the use of cardboard and paper, and how we can recycle them to take care of our planet. Additionally, they launched a recycling competition. Each week, the class that sorts the trash correctly will earn a green point as a prize. We look forward to seeing those trees filled with Green Points!.
Cada 29 de agosto celebramos el Día del Árbol. Este día, nos invita a todos a reflexionar sobre la importancia de los árboles para nosotros y nuestro planeta.
En un midday assembly, el Green Patrol le recordó a toda la Primaria la importancia de reducir el uso de cartón y papel, y cómo podemos reciclarlos para cuidar nuestro planeta. Además, lanzó una competencia de reciclaje. Cada semana, la clase que separe la basura de forma correcta ganará un punto verde como premio. ¡Esperamos ver esos árboles llenos de Green Points!.
