Service Day

NORDELTA PRIMARY

On Thursday June 1st we celebrated our Second Service Day. Primary and Secondary students brought non-perishable food and school items for our projects in Chaco and Rosario del Tala.

In Primary we held an Assembly where we talked about the concept of “being Caring”. Year 2 students shared their thoughts on the subject since they had been working on this together with their teachers. Then we reflected on what it means to “be Caring”:  it’s not about big gestures but rather with everyday actions. Having a nice attitude towards others generates positive feelings that motivate people to do the same for others. We closed this idea by watching the video “Cadena de favores infinita”:

Secondary students received the items brought by Secondary and Primary students and they classified them. They also prepared rugs for Chaco and spent some time organising Lost and Found.

El jueves 1ro de junio celebramos nuestro segundo Service Day. Los alumnos de Primaria y Secundaria colaboraron trayendo alimentos no perecederos y útiles escolares para nuestros proyectos de Chaco y Rosario del Tala.

En Primaria realizamos un Assembly donde hablamos sobre el concepto de “being Caring”. Los alumnos de Año 2 compartieron sus ideas sobre el tema ya que habían estado trabajando esto junto a sus maestros. Luego, entre todos reflexionamos sobre lo que significa “ser Caring”: no tiene que ver con grandes gestos sino con las pequeñas acciones que realizamos cada día.  Tener una linda actitud hacia los demás genera sentimientos positivos que nos motivan a hacer lo mismo por otros. Por su lado, los alumnos de Secundaria recibieron los elementos que trajeron tanto los alumnos de Secundaria como los de Primaria y luego los clasificaron. A su vez estuvieron armando alfombras para llevar a Chaco y trabajaron en la organización de las cosas perdidas.

OLIVOS PRIMARY

On Thursday, May 1 , we carried out our second Service Day. House Captains started this important day receiving and organising the donations. Each class spent the day doing service actions within the school.

Y1 made useful boxes to organise lost property in each class. Y2 prepared healthy snacks for Y6 who delivered workshops for them. Y3 organised the school objects donations. Y4 had a special workshop by Audela, Y5 organised school lost property and Y6 prepared NEN´s (Northlanders Educating Northlanders).

We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to all the families and students who enthusiastically participated in our recent service day. Your active involvement and dedication have made a significant impact on our community, and we are immensely grateful for your support.

El pasado jueves 1 de junio, llevamos a cabo nuestro segundo service day. Los House Captains iniciaron este importante día recibiendo y organizando las donaciones. Cada clase dedicó el día a realizar acciones de servicio dentro de la escuela.

Y1 creó cajas útiles para organizar los objetos perdidos en cada clase. Y2 preparó meriendas saludables para Y6, quienes a su vez organizaron talleres para ellos. Y3 se encargó de organizar las donaciones de objetos escolares. Y4 tuvo un taller especial con Audela, Y5 organizó los objetos perdidos de la escuela y Y6 preparó NEN’s (Northlanders Educating Northlanders, por sus siglas en inglés).

Nos gustaría expresar nuestro más sincero agradecimiento y gratitud a todas las familias y alumnos que participaron entusiastamente en nuestro reciente Service Day. Su activa participación y dedicación han tenido un impacto significativo en nuestra comunidad, y estamos inmensamente agradecidos por su apoyo.
