NEN (Northlanders educating Northlanders)

Y6 organised NEN´s for Y1 & Y2:

This project aims to foster agency and leadership skills among students by providing them with the opportunity to plan and execute workshops for younger students. It encourages students to reflect on their own strengths, skills, and knowledge, and empowers them to become teachers and mentors to their peers.

The initiative begins with a self-reflection phase, where students are encouraged to identify their individual strengths and areas of expertise. Then, students move on to the planning stage. They are given the responsibility to develop a workshop that aligns with their strengths and interests while also catering to the needs and interests of the younger students.

Once the workshops are planned, students have the opportunity to put their leadership skills into action. They take on roles of facilitators and mentors, guiding and teaching younger students during workshop sessions. This hands-on experience allows them to develop communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to effectively convey information and knowledge to others.

This Project not only gives students the chance to share their knowledge and skills but also promotes their personal growth and development as leaders. By taking ownership of the workshop planning and implementation process, students build confidence, resilience, and a sense of responsibility. They develop essential leadership qualities such as empathy, adaptability, and the ability to motivate and inspire others.

Este proyecto tiene como objetivo fomentar la autonomía y las habilidades de liderazgo entre los estudiantes al brindarles la oportunidad de planificar y ejecutar talleres para alumnos más pequeños. Este proyecto motiva a los estudiantes a reflexionar sobre sus propias fortalezas, habilidades y conocimientos, y los empodera para convertirse en maestros y mentores para sus compañeros.

El proyecto comienza con una fase de autorreflexión, donde los estudiantes identifican sus fortalezas individuales y áreas de especialización. Luego, pasan a la etapa de planificación. Se les otorga la responsabilidad de desarrollar un taller que se alinee con sus fortalezas e intereses, al mismo tiempo que satisfaga las necesidades e intereses de los más pequeños.

Una vez que los talleres están planificados, los alumnos tienen la oportunidad de poner en práctica sus habilidades de liderazgo. Asumen los roles de facilitadores y mentores, guiando y enseñando a los estudiantes más jóvenes durante las sesiones del taller. Esta experiencia práctica les permite desarrollar habilidades de comunicación, adaptabilidad y la capacidad de transmitir información y conocimientos de manera efectiva a los demás.

Este proyecto no sólo brinda a los estudiantes la oportunidad de compartir sus conocimientos y habilidades, sino que también promueve su crecimiento y desarrollo personal como líderes. Al asumir la responsabilidad del proceso de planificación e implementación del taller, los estudiantes desarrollan confianza, resiliencia y un sentido de responsabilidad. También adquieren cualidades de liderazgo esenciales como empatía, adaptabilidad y la capacidad de motivar e inspirar a los demás.
