Habitat para la Humanidad
Secondary Olivos – Y11 & Y12
On Saturday the 20th of August and 15th of October, students from Y11 and Y12 went to “La Boca” to work with the organisation “Habitat for Humanity”. Habitat is an international organisation that works towards helping everyone have a dignified home. The Argentine chapter was founded by an Old Northlander, Anne Cutts in 2002. The task was to paint the interior of the building called “Estelas de Esperanza”, which provides subsidized rent for families who would otherwise not qualify for all of the requirements of a regular rental home. The work included painting a beautiful mural in the entrance of the building, based on ideas proposed by the families themselves. Congratulations to all of the students involved!
El sábado 20 de agosto y el sábado 15 de octubre, alumnos y alumnas de Y11 y Y12 fueron al barrio de La Boca para trabajar con la organización Hábitat para la Humanidad. HPHA es una organización internacional que se dedica a ayudar a construir viviendas dignas. La sede argentina fue fundada en 2002 por Anne Cutts, ex-alumna del Northlands. La tarea incluyó pintar el interior del edificio “Estelas de Esperanza”, que ofrece alquileres sociales a familias que no podrían acceder a un alquiler regular. El trabajo incluyó producir un hermoso mural, en base a las ideas propuestas por las familias del edificio. ¡Felicitaciones a los alumnos y alumnas involucrados!
