From Stage to Classroom: Y6 Inspires K5 in a Special Meet and Greet
We are pleased to share a summary of a special “Meet and Greet” event that recently took place between our Y6 students and K5 students from Olivos.
This joint activity was organised to support K5 students in their ongoing exploration of the transdisciplinary theme, “How We Express Ourselves,” which they are focusing on throughout August and September. As part of their audience experience, K5 had the opportunity to attend to the EP2 musical General Rehearsal, “Rainbow Connection.” During the event, Year 6 students, dressed in their costumes from the musical, shared their experiences and engaged in lively interviews with the K5 students.
The younger students were eager to ask questions such as, “How did you learn your lines?” and “Were you nervous?” They were also curious about the costumes, props and the preparation process behind the scenes. Inspired by Y6 students, K5 students are now preparing their own performances, drawing on what they’ve learned from the interaction.
This event provided a fantastic opportunity for both groups to exchange ideas, learn from each other, and enhance their understanding of artistic expression. It was a meaningful afternoon of connection and creativity.
Con gran alegría les compartimos un resumen de un evento especial de “Meet and Greet” que tuvo lugar recientemente entre nuestros alumnos de Y6 y de K5 de Olivos.
Esta actividad conjunta se organizó para apoyar a los alumnos de K5 en su exploración continua del tema transdisciplinario “Cómo Nos Expresamos,” en el que se están enfocando durante agosto y septiembre. Como parte de su experiencia como audiencia, los estudiantes de K5 tuvieron la oportunidad de asistir al ensayo general del musical de EP2, “Rainbow Connection.” Durante el evento, los alumnos de Year 6, vestidos con sus vestuarios del musical, compartieron sus experiencias y participaron en entrevistas animadas con los estudiantes de K5.
Los estudiantes más pequeños estaban ansiosos por hacer preguntas como: “¿Cómo aprendieron sus líneas?” y “¿Estaban nerviosos?” También mostraron curiosidad por los vestuarios, la utilería y el proceso de preparación detrás de escena. Inspirados por los alumnos de Year 6, los niños de K5 ahora están preparando sus propias representaciones, basándose en lo que han aprendido de esta interacción.
Este evento brindó una fantástica oportunidad para que ambos grupos intercambiaran ideas, aprendieran unos de otros y mejoraran su comprensión de la expresión artística. Fue una tarde significativa de conexión y creatividad.
