Flag Day Celebration

We concluded a special week by sharing with the families of Year 4 and all the students in Primary our Flag Day Ceremony: “Our Flag, Our Identity.” We congratulate our Year 4 students for making the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

On this special occasion, we had the privilege of hosting the Military Band of the Patricios Regiment, “Tambor de Tacuarí,” along with Sub-Lieutenant Santiago Tito (father of Belisario, a Y1 student), and Captain Agustín Nogueira of the Patricios. We enjoyed a repertoire of Military Marches and a popular song. It was a pleasure and a pride to have you with us and to transmit to our students the value of reinterpreting our history, with our feet in the present and our gaze on our future.

Furthermore, the Primary School Choir, directed by Ana Schwarzberg, specially prepared a song in what was their first performance of the year. To conclude, the Year 4 children sang their version of the song “Sube” using sign language and conducted an interview with Santiago and Agustín from the Patricios Regiment to complement their investigation.

We would like to thank the entire teaching team of Year 4 for their work and dedication in preparing the ceremony.

Cerramos una especial semana compartiendo con las familias de Y4 y todos los alumnos de Primaria nuestro Acto del Día de la Bandera: “Nuestra Bandera, Nuestra Identidad”. Felicitamos a nuestros alumnos de Y4 por haber realizado la Promesa de Lealtad a la Bandera. 

En esta especial ocasión, contamos con el privilegio de tener la presencia de la Banda Militar del Regimiento de Patricios, “Tambor de Tacuarí”, junto al Subteniente Santiago Tito (padre de Belisario, alumno de Y1), y Agustín Nogueira, Capitán de Patricios. Disfrutamos de un repertorio de Marchas Militares y una canción popular. Fue un gusto y un orgullo que nos acompañen, y poder transmitir a nuestros alumnos el valor de resignificar nuestra historia, con los pies en el presente y la mirada en nuestro futuro.  

Asimismo, el Primary School Choir, dirigido por Ana Schwarzberg, les regaló a los chicos una canción, en lo que fue su primera presentación del año. 

Para cerrar, los niños de Y4 cantaron su versión de la canción “Sube”, con lenguaje de señas, y realizaron una entrevista a Santiago y Agustín, del Regimiento de Patricios, para complementar su indagación. 

Agradecemos a todo el equipo docente de Y4 por su trabajo y dedicación en la preparación del acto.

Nordelta Primary – Y4

On June 21, our Year 4 students pledged allegiance to the Argentine flag.
Within the framework of the Unit of Inquiry , “Values and Ideals”, they researched the idea that “Values and ideals are part of the identity of communities”.
To get started, they organised a formal gathering, giving evidence of agency and ownership of their own learning, by making informed choices and demonstrating proactivity. 

Moreover, they shared their reflections on the importance of symbols and other representations.
At the event, we also honored our Community members’ nationalities, by having their flags, for we not only value our own identity, but also appreciate the richness there is in diversity and we promote international mindedness in a global world.

El día 21 de junio los alumnos de Y 4 realizaron su promesa de lealtad a la Bandera.Como parte de la unidad de indagación “Valores e ideales”,  investigaron sobre la idea de que “Los valores e ideales forman parte de la identidad de las comunidades”.  Organizaron el acto demostrando ser agentes de su propio aprendizaje a través de su iniciativa y elecciones. Compartieron sus reflexiones sobre la importancia de los símbolos y representaciones.

También estuvieron presentes las banderas de las  distintas nacionalidades que forman parte de nuestra comunidad de Northlands. No solo valoramos nuestra propia identidad cultural, también apreciamos la riqueza de la diversidad y promovemos la mentalidad internacional en un mundo cada vez más global.
