Big Brothers and Sisters
As part of Northlands’ Personal and Social Development Program, we have once again implemented the Year 6 students’ mentorship program for Year 1 students.
This initiative aims to strengthen the bonds between Year 6 and Year 1 students. For the younger children, it means having an older student they can trust and turn to when needed. For Year 6 students, it provides an active role in which they develop responsibility and awareness of others.
On Monday, March 17th, Year 1 students met the Year 6 students assigned as their “Big Brothers and Big Sisters” in a gathering filled with joy and camaraderie. Year 6 students prepared a poster introducing themselves with photos and drawings, while Year 1 students gifted them a special drawing they had made. To conclude, they worked together to write down things they have in common.
Dentro del marco del Programa de Desarrollo Personal y Social de Northlands, hemos implementado una vez más el programa de padrinazgo de los alumnos de Año 6 a los alumnos de Año 1.
Esta actividad tiene como fin fortalecer los vínculos entre alumnos de Año 6 y Año 1. Para los niños de Año 1 implica tener un alumno más grande en quien confiar y a quien recurrir en caso de necesitarlo. En relación a los alumnos de Año 6 esto busca darles un rol activo en el cual desarrollen su responsabilidad y conciencia por los demás.
El lunes 17/3 los alumnos de Y1 conocieron a aquellos alumnos de Y6 designados para ser sus “Big Brothers y Big Sisters” en un encuentro en el cual reinó un espíritu de alegría y compañerismo. Los chicos de Y6 les prepararon una cartulina presentándose, con fotos y dibujos para contarles de ellos, mientras los de Y1 les regalaron un dibujo que habían hecho especialmente para ellos también. Para finalizar, en conjunto escribieron algunas cosas que tenían en común.
