29 August – Tree Day
Tree Day serves as a powerful reminder that even the smallest seed can grow into something extraordinary. This Thursday, August 29th, we celebrated Tree Day at Northlands by planting native species at our Nordelta site as part of our reforestation project and our ongoing commitment to developing a wildlife corridor.
The Ibirapitá trees were acquired through the hard work and dedication of Northlands students, who have engaged in various sustainable initiatives across both sites, such as the Evergreen bake sales and the marmalade sale project. Additionally, primary students in Olivos had the chance to plant a Jacaranda tree along the Roma sidewalk, while the Nordelta Green Patrol organised an inspiring assembly. During this event, they shared their ideas, read a poem, and invited the entire school community to metaphorically “hug” a tree. ¡Do not miss visiting our intervened trees in our Secondary playgrounds!

El Día del Árbol nos recuerda que incluso la semilla más pequeña puede crecer y convertirse en algo extraordinario. Este jueves 29 de agosto, celebramos el Día del Árbol en Northlands plantando especies nativas en nuestro sitio de Nordelta, como parte de nuestro proyecto de reforestación y nuestro compromiso continuo de desarrollar un corredor biológico.
Los árboles de Ibirapitá fueron adquiridos gracias al trabajo y dedicación de nuestros alumnos, quienes han participado en diversas iniciativas sostenibles en ambos campus, como los “Bake Sales” organizado por los Evergreens y el proyecto de venta de mermeladas de Kinder. Además, los estudiantes de primaria en Olivos tuvieron la oportunidad de plantar un árbol de Jacarandá en la vereda de Roma, mientras que los Green Patrol de Nordelta organizaron una inspiradora asamblea. Durante este evento, compartieron sus ideas, leyeron un poema e invitaron a toda la comunidad escolar a “abrazar” metafóricamente un árbol. ¡No dejen de visitar los árboles intervenidos en el parque de Secundaria!
En Northlands estamos comprometidos a empoderar a nuestros estudiantes dándoles voz y oportunidades de liderazgo, permitiéndoles tomar acciones significativas que contribuyan a crear un mundo mejor.
