BITTER ORANGE MARMALADE PROJECT
Like every August, we have launched our beloved project of making bitter orange marmalade. We have been developing this project for a few years now, taking note of the elements that our environment offers us, giving value and meaning to our history and at the same time providing meaningful and active experiences for our children as “agents of change”. We will begin by walking around the neighbourhood with the children and collecting oranges from the trees we find on the pavements. Then, with the help of the families, we will process them into marmalade and finally sell them to the community. This year, we plan to allocate part of the proceeds to the forestation of the sports field in Nordelta.
We are very excited about the beginning of this sustainable project that is so dear to our community!
Como todos los Agosto, hemos lanzado nuestro querido proyecto de elaboración de mermeladas de naranjas amargas. Hace ya unos años que desarrollamos este proyecto, registrando los elementos que nos brinda nuestro entorno dando valor y sentido a nuestra historia y a su vez brindando experiencias significativas y activas para nuestros niños como “agentes de cambio”. Comenzaremos recorriendo el barrio con los niños y recolectando las naranjas de los árboles que encontremos en las veredas. Luego, con ayuda de las familias, las procesaremos para convertirlas en mermelada, y finalmente las venderemos a la comunidad. Este año, planeamos destinar parte de lo recaudado a la forestación del campo de deportes en Nordelta.
