Trip to Parana

Friday:
At the end of Friday, after an intense day, we focused on “What do we have to Value, to be Grateful for.” We started with one of the strong moments of childhood, which is shared in their talks, “Our Gillian Hartley.” A painful moment experienced when their mother showed them, even in that situation, there was something they could be grateful for. Then we asked them, for each to reflect privately and during a minute of silence, what they had in their lives to value and be grateful for?
After that minute, we asked them to exchange with someone what they had become aware of. And later, we invited them to share it with the group. The valuations and gratitude we heard put their families, friends, and school in focus, and we know that even though there are always those who may not yet dare, hearing what was expressed in those minutes is sufficient.

Saturday:
The idea was to present a series of images where we encounter children of different races and cultures, stimulating reflection in our students to find what they have in common. The experience was accompanied by questions that facilitate the search and invite us to focus on what we have humanly in common, setting aside not only what differentiates us but also what distances and sometimes confronts us. We believe it is not only time for approaches, encounters, and agreements, but also to take the effort to open that human channel together with others. We are heading towards more and more diversity, where the only thing we will share is being simply humans, protagonists of emotions.

Viernes:
En el cierre del viernes, y después de una intensa jornada, nos enfocamos en ¨Qué tenemos para Valorar, para Agradecer¨. Lo iniciamos con uno de los fuertes momentos de su infancia, que comparte en sus charlas ¨Nuestra Gillian Hartley¨ Un doloroso momento vivido en el que su madre les muestra a sus pequeños hijos, que aún en esa situación, hay algo que podían agradecer. Y entonces les preguntamos, para que cada uno lo reflexionara en su intimidad y durante un minuto de silencio, qué tenía en su vida para valorar y agradecer ?

Luego de ese minuto les pedimos que intercambien con alguien lo que han hecho consciente. Y más tarde los invitamos a compartirlo con el grupo. Las valoraciones y agradecimientos que escuchamos pusieron a sus familias, sus amigos y a la escuela en el foco, y sabemos que aunque siempre haya quienes no se animen aún, escuchar lo que se expuso en esos minutos es suficiente.

Sábado:
La idea fue presentar una serie de Imágenes donde nos encontramos con Niños de diferentes razas y culturas, y estimular la reflexión en nuestros alumnos en busca de qué tienen en común. La experiencia fué acompañada de preguntas que facilitan la búsqueda y que invitan a poner el foco en lo que tenemos humanamente en común dejando de lado lo que, no sólo nos diferencia sino que nos aleja y a veces nos enfrenta. Creemos no sólo que es tiempo de acercamientos, encuentros y acuerdos, sino de tomarnos el trabajo de hacer el esfuerzo de abrir ese canal humano junto al otro. Vamos rumbo a más y más diversidad, donde lo único que compartiremos es ser simplemente humanos protagonistas de emociones.

HOCKEY

Despite the resistance shown by the girls regarding the proposal to share moments with the other venue, throughout the trip, they demonstrated that it was a great socialisation experience.

The match against CAE was very positive, as the tactical and group objectives were achieved.

A pesar de la resistencia presentada por las chicas, con respecto a la propuesta de compartir momentos con la otra sede. A lo largo del viaje, demostraron que fue una gran experiencia de socialización.

El partido contra el CAE fue con un balance muy positivo, ya que se cumplieron los objetivos propuestos táctica y grupalmente.

RUGBY

On Friday afternoon, we had a training session at CAE Club, where we did a post-travel activation and mobility session on the bus. We moved around a bit, doing various skill drills, and ended up playing a game.

On Saturday, Rowing Club welcomed us on a sunny morning filled with Rugby.

We formed two teams and each played a triangular match with the local team and CAE.

From a sporting and human perspective, it was a great tour for the boys, who were very united, forming a great team.

RUGBY

El viernes por la tarde tuvimos un entrenamiento en el Club CAE, en donde hicimos una activación y movilidad post viaje en micro. Nos movimos un poco haciendo varios trabajos de destrezas y terminamos jugando.

El sábado nos recibió el club Rowing en una mañana de sol a puro Rugby.

Armamos dos equipos y jugamos cada uno un triangular con los pares del local y CAE.

A nivel deportivo y humano fue una gran gira para los chicos los cuales se vieron muy unidos formando un gran equipo.

SOFTBALL

Our team had a wonderful experience, playing their three games on an official softball field and they were fascinated. We also had a morning of batting practice in Oro Verde, where they could also watch games from the Women’s Major Club Softball Tournament that was taking place on that field. They were super excited about everything that was happening.

In the first and second games against Don Bosco Club, they were very nervous and frustrated because the opponent had a very high level. Gradually, they gained more confidence, started enjoying the game and beautiful plays emerged both defensively and offensively. They had the opportunity to play mixed games with Northlands and Don Bosco, in which the last innings were a great moment to get to know each other and share their experience. We closed the meeting with a snack prepared by the team’s families.

In the third game against CEF Club, they entered the field with more confidence, eager to play and win. Everything they had experienced up to that point was evident; they enjoyed themselves immensely and knew how to finish the tour playing as a team. According to the entire team, it was the best game and opponent they faced. Against CEF, they also played mixed innings, more open and eager to continue learning and they made beautiful plays!

SOFTBALL

Nuestro equipo vivió una experiencia maravillosa, tuvieron sus 3 partidos en una cancha de softball oficial, estaban fascinados. También tuvimos una mañana de entrenamiento de bateo en Oro Verde donde además pudieron ver partidos del Torneo de Softball femenino Mayor de clubes que se estaba desarrollando en esa cancha, estaban súper entusiasmados con todo lo que sucedía.

En la primer y segundo partido contra el club Don Bosco estaban muy nerviosos/as y frustrados porque el rival tenía muy buen nivel, de a poquito fueron ganando más confianza, comenzaron a disfrutar el juego y fueron saliendo lindas jugadas tanto en defensa como ataque. Tuvieron la oportunidad de jugar mezclados Northlands y Don Bosco, en ambos partidos los últimos innings, siendo un gran momento para conocerse y compartir su experiencia. Cerramos el encuentro con una merienda preparada por las familias del equipo.

El tercer partido contra el Club CEF en el cual lograron entrar a la cancha ya con más confianza, con muchísimas ganas de jugar y ganar, se notó todo lo vivido hasta el momento, disfrutaron muchísimo y supieron terminar la gira jugando en equipo. Fue según todo el equipo el mejor partido y rival que enfrentaron. Contra CEF también jugaron los últimos innings mezclados y ya más abiertos y con ganas de seguir aprendiendo, hicieron hermosas jugadas!
