Olivos Primary – Y6
Exhibition rocks! On Thursday and Friday, Y6 students took their Exhibition to a whole different level and it was a great success.
The PYP Exhibition is a culminating event in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP). It is a student-led inquiry project where students choose a topic of personal interest, conduct in-depth research and present their findings to the school community.
It aims to showcase the students’ skills in research, communication, critical thinking and reflection. It encourages them to take responsibility for their learning and demonstrate the attributes of the IB Learner Profile. The process involves collaboration, self-management and engagement with real-world issues, emphasising the connection between classroom learning and the world outside.
It’s a significant and meaningful experience for students, fostering a sense of agency and a love for learning.
We would like to commend our students, as well as their mentors and teachers, for undergoing this endeavour with such commitment and enthusiasm. We feel very proud of you!
¡La exposición fue un éxito! El jueves y viernes, los estudiantes de Y6 llevaron su Exposición a un nivel completamente diferente, y fue un gran éxito.
La Exposición es un evento culminante en el Programa de los Años Primarios (PYP) del Bachillerato Internacional (IB). Es un proyecto de indagación liderado por los estudiantes en el que ellos eligen un tema de interés personal, realizan una investigación en profundidad y presentan sus hallazgos a la comunidad escolar.
Su objetivo es mostrar las habilidades de los estudiantes en investigación, comunicación, pensamiento crítico y reflexión. Los anima a asumir la responsabilidad de su aprendizaje y demostrar los atributos del Perfil de Alumno del IB. El proceso implica la colaboración, la autogestión y la participación en problemas del mundo real, enfatizando la conexión entre el aprendizaje en el aula y el mundo exterior.
Es una experiencia significativa para los estudiantes, que fomenta un sentido de agencia y un amor por el aprendizaje.
Queremos felicitar a nuestros estudiantes, así como a sus mentores y maestros, por emprender esta tarea con tanto compromiso y entusiasmo. ¡Nos sentimos muy orgullosos de ustedes!

On 3 November our Year 6 students presented their PYP Exhibition to the community.
