Radio Tracking

Within UOI 2, Y6 students inquire into endangered species and how we can protect them. One of the tools used by biologists to track and study animals is radio telemetry. We received Dr. Romina Scardamaglia, who taught us how this equipment is used in the field and then challenged us to track and locate mock birds hidden in the school’s open areas. Such an interesting activity!

En la UOI 2, los alumnos de Y6 indagan acerca de las especies amenazadas y cómo podemos protegerlas. Una de las herramientas usadas por científicos y conservacionistas para estudiar y rastrear animales es la radiotelemetría. Recibimos la visita de la Dra. Romina Scardamaglia, quien nos enseñó cómo estos equipos se usan en el trabajo de campo y nos desafió a rastrear y encontrar aves escondidas en las áreas abiertas del Colegio. ¡Qué interesante!
