Friendship Day

On Wednesday May 3, Year 5 students had their Friendship Day at our sports grounds in Tortuguitas. Friendship Days are an opportunity for our students to develop personal and social awareness. The idea is to carry out activities that aim at getting to know each other more deeply and strengthen their bonds of friendship.  

 Our Friendship Day started with a moment of personal reflection and then the children had to share their insights with students they didn´t know so much. Afterwards, in different groups they were invited to create a “machine” using their own bodies. They had to give it a name, create a slogan and a jingle.

After sharing a delicious lunch, Y5 students played different team games. The day ended with a group reflection and a moment to express our gratitude. The students really enjoyed this day with their companions and their teachers.

El miércoles 3 de mayo los alumnos de Año 5 participaron de su Friendship Day por primera vez en el campo de Tortuguitas. Los Friendship Days son una oportunidad para los alumnos para desarrollar tanto la conciencia personal como la conciencia social. La idea es realizar actividades que fomenten el encuentro con el otro y el trabajo en equipo con el fin de conocerse con mayor profundidad y fortalecer los vínculos de amistad.   

Nuestro Friendship Day comenzó con un primer espacio de reflexión individual donde los chicos tuvieron que compartir sus perspectivas con aquellos alumnos que no conocían tanto. Luego, en diferentes grupos, fueron invitados a crear una “máquina”utilizando sus propios cuerpos. Tuvieron que ponerle un nombre, crear un “slogan” y un “jingle”.

Después de compartir un rico almuerzo, los alumnos de Y 5 jugaron diferentes juegos en equipo.  El día culminó con una reflexión grupal y un momento para expresar nuestro agradecimiento. Los alumnos realmente disfrutaron este día con sus compañeros y maestros.
